Dermal Therapist Tina Shares Her Top Skincare Products

Tina, Dermal Skin Therapist from Mabin House Body & Skin Sanctuary, shares the active skincare products and beauty treatments she can’t live without.

What do you love most about working in the skin and beauty industry, and how long have you been a skin and beauty professional?

My favourite thing is the people! Working with my clients is so rewarding, seeing them regularly and making long term connections of trust and friendship. I love helping them to feel great about themselves, be it with a small treatment or an indulgent experience. I’ve been in the industry for 14 years, but have been lucky to take advantage of the constant improvements in skin science in our products and treatments.

Which skin or beauty treatments will you be getting just in time for summer?

I’ll be squeezing in all I can with the girls in the clinic when possible, but before the holidays I definitely enjoy a great spa pedicure and a tan (faking it, not baking it of course!). These classic beauty treatments always help me feel groomed and gorgeous for summer events.

Which professional treatment are your clients loving the most right now?

Our combination treatments are the most popular at the moment, a good mix of action packed and pampering.  We have a great customised treatment facial called an OMG (Oh My Goodness) which combines Microdermabrasion, Infusion Peels and LED light therapy, plus lots of massage in between. Very delicious!

Which at-home skincare product has improved your skin the most in the past year?

My absolute favourite has to be the DP Dermaceuticals Hyla Active serum. It’s super hydrating with the Hyaluronic Acid, feels like silk on my skin and has really reduced my redness and irritability around my mouth. It absorbs so quickly and has helped my skin look hydrated and glowing every day.

What’s your favourite sun protection product for summer?

This would 100% be Dp Dermaceuticals Cover Recover in the shade Tawny. It’s a luxurious sunscreen, cooling, and non-drying foundation in one. It gives amazing, natural-looking coverage, even when playing tennis. But the best part is that I feel confident that my skin is being well looked after, nourished and protected when I’m wearing it.

Christmas is almost here! Which treatment would you recommend as a gift for your mum, daughter or BFF?

I would definitely recommend a pampering spa package, it’s been a tough year! Here at Mabin House in Nelson we have one called ‘The Cat’s Pyjamas’, which includes a mineral foot soak and scrub, massage and a gorgeous Ginger&ME facial. It’s great value too!

And which skincare products are you going to be purchasing this year as gifts for your friends and family members?

O Cosmedics Mineral Pro for the win! Everybody needs great mineral suncare in their lives, and this is one of our favourites as it suits everybody, even the boys.

Which skin or beauty products will you be stocking up on for yourself for the holidays?

Everything! But mainly the skin Christmas box sets, as they are such great value and our clients really love them. It’s a fantastic way to get our clients set up with all their core products for the perfect routine. Also I’ll be making sure I have plenty of O Cosmedics Immortal Cream, as it doesn’t stay on the shelf very long. We’ve created many Immortal Cream addicts around here!
